Squares Pool Rules

Golden Rule

If you don't understand how the pool works (after reading this page), ask me and I will try to explain it better.

Cost

  • Squares cost different amounts depending on which grid you are playing on.
  • Should not every square get filled in before the superbowl, that grid will be declared invalid, and everyone will receive a refund into their Squares account.
  • Square sales and selection are on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Chose any square you want that hasn't already been taken.
  • No min/max - buy as many as you want.
  • You must pay first before you will be allowed to select a square - absolutely no exceptions this year!
  • You do not have to personally know Mark to participate.  Your friends, family, neighbors, etc. are welcome to join.

Numbers

The numbers that go along with each row/column will be randomly drawn after all squares have been sold.  This makes it so that everyone has the same opportunity to get any set of numbers.  It also means you don't have to know anything about football as it all comes down to the luck of the draw.

Here is how I will draw the numbers:
  • Gather some "witnesses" (most likely my co-workers)
  • Get a normal deck of cards
  • Pull out one set of numbers ace (1) through 10.
  • Shuffle the ten cards and then flip them over in order, recording the numeric value along the top of your grid, with ace having a value of 1 and 10 having a value of 0. (NFC Team's Numbers)
  • Repeat this procedure along the side of the grid as well. (AFC Team's Numbers)
